About
Local, honest, no upselling.
We cut hedges. We reduce overgrown ones. We reshape and renovate tired ones, and advise on what to replace a worn-out hedge with. And we advise on new planting, using species that will actually thrive on Wingham's chalk-and-Thanet-Sand mix, not whatever the nursery has in stock.
That is it. We do not do tree surgery, lawn care, fencing, or the rest of the garden-services bundle. Hedges are a craft worth being good at; we keep our focus narrow so we are.
Wingham has a conservation area covering the High Street core, and Dover District has more than 600 tree preservation orders in force across the district. A contractor from outside the area will not know which houses need a section 211 notice, or where the historic yews in the churchyard boundary have a TPO on them.
The soil changes inside the parish. Shallow chalk on the higher ground west toward Adisham; freer-draining Thanet Sand thickening east toward Ash. The species that suits one side of the parish is the wrong pick on the other. We work this patch every week and we know which is which.
