What's included

• Top, sides and front face cut to your chosen height and width

• Six-week Section 211 notice filed on your behalf if you are in the Wingham Conservation Area and the hedge has any stems over 75mm at 1.5 metres

Pricing

Most routine cuts around Wingham fall in the £120 to £400 range depending on hedge length, height, and how much access we need. We give a fixed price after seeing photos and the postcode, no surprises on the day, no charge if the quote is not accepted.

Timing by species

The best window depends on what you are growing.

• Privet, leylandii, thuja: fast-growing, often needs two cuts a year, April-August, never cut leylandii back into bare wood
• Beech: single August trim so the russet winter leaves stay through
• Hornbeam: main cut August, optional light winter trim
• Yew: single late-August cut; yew is happy with a hard clip once a year
• Holly, laurel: late summer; both bruise, so secateurs on visible faces where time allows
• Box: late May/early June and again August/September; we avoid warm humid weather because of blight risk
• Native mixed (hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel): winter only, September to February, to respect the nesting window

What we don't do on cutting jobs

If a hedge needs more than a routine cut: overgrown, gappy, leaning, or has outgrown the position: that is a reduction job, not a cut. We tell you that at quote stage rather than do a botched cut and pretend it solved the problem.
